Romeo Beckham And Paul Kircher Turn Up The Heat In Forty Love Trailer

Romeo Beckham is trading the football pitch for a very different kind of sporting drama.

The son of David and Victoria Beckham makes his film acting debut in Forty Love, a French tennis romance opposite Paul Kircher.

The first trailer, covered by AlloCiné on October 15, brings their characters’ attraction into focus ahead of the film’s French cinema release on November 25.

A rival changes the game

Kircher plays Sacha Gallo, a 21-year-old whose life has revolved around tennis and the ambition of winning his first major title in Paris.

Trained by his father, he has a clear sporting goal until a new rival, played by Beckham, unsettles the world he knows.

The synopsis shared by Studiocanal makes love another challenge for the young player, alongside the demands of competition.

That is the central attraction here: the man standing in the way of victory may also be the man he wants to get closer to.

The trailer’s intimacy takes that premise beyond a suggestive publicity photograph, showing the players’ relationship extending off the court.

Romance with a darker edge

There is also reason to expect a more unsettling story than the sports-romance premise alone might suggest.

AlloCiné lists the film across drama, romance and thriller, and the promotional material hints at danger alongside desire.

How those elements fit together is something the full film will have to reveal.

For now, the attraction between the rivals is the hook, with the darker material adding another question about where their encounter might lead.

A first feature with an established cast

Forty Love is also the first feature directed by fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti, who co-wrote the screenplay with Gaëlle Macé.

Guillaume Canet plays Sacha’s father and coach, while Benjamin Voisin and Catherine Deneuve also appear.

Screen Daily’s production report identifies Hugo Sélignac and Paco de Bary as producers for Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, with Studiocanal and Manna Studios co-producing.

Studiocanal handles worldwide sales, as well as the French release.

The November 25 date applies to cinemas in France; it should not be read as a worldwide opening.

For viewers drawn to a rivalry that turns into something more intimate, this is a new match to keep an eye on.
