Sawyer Hemsley is asking people to think about the person receiving their words after sharing examples of the online harassment he says he has faced.
In an Instagram post, the gay Crumbl co-founder said he had received numerous hurtful messages over several days and was sharing five examples.

One screenshot includes a threat of swatting and exposing private information about his family.
The material shows a threatening message; it does not establish that either threatened action was carried out or identify the sender.
A Reminder to Pause Before Posting
Hemsley said his reason for sharing the messages was to encourage people to think before posting abuse and to challenge it when they see it.
“Not everyone has thick skin, and words like these can hit someone on their worst day,” he wrote.
He described kindness and respect as values he was raised with, and said bullying was unacceptable both in person and behind a screen.
The Instagram post also urged followers to lift people up when they see them being torn down.
“Everyone deserves to feel safe online,” he said.
The Disputed Guest-List Claim
The post comes amid a public disagreement involving TikToker Grant Gibbs and Grindr’s Halloween Pleasure Ball.

As Out reported on October 22, Gibbs alleged that Hemsley had caused him to be removed from the event’s guest list.
Hemsley denied the claim, saying neither he nor his team had asked Grindr to remove Gibbs and that he had not discussed him or the event with anyone there.
Out said it had contacted Grindr but had not received a response at publication.
That leaves the reason for the alleged guest-list removal unresolved in the reporting available.
The screenshots of threatening messages do not establish who sent them or any involvement by Gibbs.
A History of Public Speculation
The disagreement follows Gibbs’s public speculation about Hemsley’s sexuality last year.
Hemsley came out as gay in August 2025 and has since shared happy moments from his life with boyfriend Antonio Bruno on social media.

In his response to the latest allegation, also reported by Just Jared, he acknowledged that the earlier TikTok situation had been difficult, while saying he had moved forward and held no ill will.
For LGBTQ readers familiar with the vulnerability of having others discuss their identity, his new appeal may feel especially personal.
A public disagreement can be questioned and reported without treating threats as entertainment.
Hemsley’s request is a simple one: consider the person reading, and choose how to respond with care.
