“It’s coming out this year,” Locke confirmed. “Every season of our show, we grow up with the characters more and this season is definitely a bit raunchier”.
Volume Five of Oseman’s graphic novel series already gave us a sneak peek into Charlie and Nick’s journey towards intimacy, complete with all the awkward, heartwarming, and important moments that come with it. And it looks like season three is not shying away from these pivotal moments.
But it’s not all about the lovey-dovey stuff. Joe also mentioned that the upcoming season would tackle some pretty heavy topics, including mental health issues. “It’s still Heartstopper,” Locke said. “But it’s also that we deal with some darker issues. “Charlie, my character – he deals with some quite severe mental health issues, which we tackle in this season, which I’m very excited for people to see.”
