With their boots polished and cowboy hats tilted just right, country sensations Orville Peck and Willie Nelson are spectacular in their latest collaborative video, “Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond Of Each Other”. Shaking up the country scene, these two show us how the yeehaw agenda is on the rise, thriving, and fabulous!
Orville Peck, known for his unique blend of country aesthetics with modern themes of LGBTQ+ representation, hasn’t disappointed fans. This masked enigma has consistently used his artistry to push boundaries in a genre steeped in traditional, often heteronormative, values. Recently revealed as Jake T. Shears, former frontman of the band Scissor Sisters, Peck’s love life is not a secret. Living a proud life, his partnership with his long-term boyfriend is a love story we all embrace.
But not so fast, another theory is that his real name is Daniel Pitout.
On the other hand, Willie Nelson, a well-established legend in the realm of country music, surprised everyone in 2006 when he released his version of “Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond Of Each Other”. His acceptance and endorsement of different forms of love echoed around the world. Sporting a bandana and that signature braid, Nelson comfortably belts out the provocative lyrics, further stamping approval on the trend of increasing inclusivity in the country music landscape.

While the song was first released in 1981 by Ned Sublette, Nelson and now Peck have embraced its spirited viewpoint, carving out a niche for it in the mainstream.
