Puerto Vallarta’s Zona Romántica shimmered with excitement as The Tryst, a luxurious LGBTQ+ boutique hotel, celebrated its grand opening on April 25, 2025.
The event was a dazzling affair, drawing a constellation of celebrities and setting a new standard for queer-friendly hospitality in the region.

Pop icon Demi Lovato surprised guests with a rooftop performance of her hit song Cool for the Summer, igniting the night with energy and pride.
Lovato emphasized the importance of inclusive spaces, stating, “Knowing that there’s a space where you’re not only safe but celebrated means everything”.
The festivities, hosted by comedian Matt Rogers, featured appearances by beloved actress Jennifer Coolidge, who expressed her admiration for the LGBTQ+ community’s spirit and originality.

Other notable attendees included Antoni Porowski, Chrishell Stause, Colton Haynes, TS Madison, Julia Fox, and Laverne Cox, among others .

Entrepreneur Tristan Schukraft, dubbed the “CEO of Everything Gay,” is the visionary behind The Tryst.
His goal was to create a haven where guests can be their authentic selves without judgment.
“Our grand opening weekend was everything a gay luxury hotel should be—drag queens diving into the pool, DJs lighting up the rooftop, and a sea of friends (and future friends) around every corner,” Schukraft shared.

The hotel’s design, crafted by renowned firm Estudio Esterlina, boasts 55 elegantly appointed rooms, each featuring private balconies, mood lighting, and luxurious amenities.
The rooftop pool and bar offer panoramic views of the Pacific, serving as the perfect backdrop for the weekend’s celebrations .
Highlights of the opening included performances by drag superstars Gottmik and Violet Chachki, as well as a drag brunch hosted by Shea Couleé.

The weekend culminated in a spectacular fireworks display, symbolizing the hotel’s commitment to joy and inclusivity .
Looking ahead, Schukraft plans to expand The Tryst brand to other LGBTQ+ destinations, including Fire Island and San Juan, aiming to replicate the hotel’s unique blend of luxury and community .
