In a recent interview with GQ, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the groundbreaking gay TV series ‘Looking’, casting director Carmen Cuba and director Andrew Haigh revealed that Pascal was considered for a role in the series.





“Especially in TV, you meet a lot of people… Pedro Pascal was someone we met [for a role on Looking], and from that, I put him on Narcos,” Cuba said.





Pascal’s acting career began in 1996, and he rose to prominence after portraying Oberyn Martell in the fourth season of the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones (2014) and Javier Peña in the Netflix crime series Narcos (2015–2017). He went on to appear in several films such as The Great Wall (2016), Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017), The Equalizer 2 (2018), Triple Frontier (2019), Wonder Woman 1984 (2020), and The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022). Since 2019, Pascal has starred as the title character in the Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian and again in The Book of Boba Fett (2022). Since 2023, he has played Joel Miller in the HBO drama series The Last of Us, for which he received nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award. And in Strange Way of Life, a Spanish gay Western drama short film written and directed by Pedro Almodóvar.
