Charleston’s social scene is abuzz with the news that our dear friend, Ryan Albert, is stepping into the spotlight as the newest cast member of Southern Charm.

Known for his impeccable hosting skills and warm presence, Ryan’s addition promises to bring a fresh and authentic perspective to the show’s tenth season.

For years, Ryan has been a cherished member of Charleston’s elite circles, often seen alongside our mutual confidante, Patricia Altschul.

His gracious demeanor and flair for entertaining have made him a standout figure in our community.

Now, as he joins the cast, viewers will get an intimate glimpse into his life, especially his loving marriage to Dr. Eddie Irions, a respected gastroenterologist in Charleston.

The couple, who tied the knot in October 2021 after a serendipitous meeting on Instagram, have been a picture of genuine affection and partnership.

Ryan’s decision to join Southern Charm wasn’t made lightly. He shared with PEOPLE that while the opportunity had been presented in the past, the timing never felt quite right.

However, with the evolution of his personal life and deepening friendships with cast members, he felt the moment had arrived to share his story.

“Where things were at home and with my family — I’ve been married a few years now — and where things were with my friendships with the cast, it just felt right this time when they came to me,” Ryan reflected.

A poignant aspect of Ryan’s journey is his hope that showcasing his marriage on national television will foster acceptance within his own family.

He revealed that his parents have yet to embrace his union with Eddie, nor have they met him.

By allowing cameras into their daily lives, Ryan aspires to open hearts and minds, stating, “Hopefully them watching us interact and watching us at home and seeing our authentic love for each other will open up their hearts and minds to having that relationship with us both and showing us respect.”

Joining the ensemble cast came with its own set of apprehensions.

While Ryan already shared close bonds with Patricia Altschul, Venita Aspen, Madison LeCroy, and Whitney Sudler-Smith, he was uncertain about how he would mesh with Craig Conover, Austen Kroll, and Shep Rose.

To his delight, the trio welcomed him with open arms, making him feel “like a part of the group.”

Reflecting on the experience, Ryan noted, “Things are still unraveling every day and we’re all still hanging out. It’s still evolving even after the season.”

As we eagerly anticipate the premiere of Southern Charm‘s tenth season on December 5, 2024, it’s heartening to see one of our own sharing his authentic self with the world.

Ryan’s journey is a beautiful reminder of the importance of love, acceptance, and the courage to live one’s truth.

Here’s to celebrating our friend’s new adventure and the positive impact it will undoubtedly have on viewers everywhere.

Danny Pintauro’s Holiday Drama: Hubby Wil to the Rescue!

Our dear friend Danny Pintauro, whom we fondly remember as Jonathan Bower from “Who’s the Boss?” and Tad Trenton in “Cujo,” recently faced a harrowing ordeal.

On Thanksgiving night, Danny was involved in a scooter accident that led to emergency surgery.

Ever the open book, he shared his experience with us on Instagram, complete with a heartfelt note and some candid hospital snapshots.

Instagram: @dannypintauro

In his message, Danny recounted how a blocked bike lane forced him into a split-second decision between colliding with a van or a pylon.

Opting for the pylon, he sustained a nasty scrape on his arm and initially feared it was broken.

However, the real trouble began two days later when he experienced severe chest and abdominal pains, making it nearly impossible to breathe.

Thankfully, his loving husband, Wil Tabares, was right there by his side, whisking him off to the hospital.

After a series of tests, doctors discovered a tear in his stomach lining, which had allowed air and stomach acid to escape into his abdomen, leading to a serious infection.

Danny described it as “the most excruciating pain” he’s ever endured.

Emergency surgery was performed to repair the tear, and we’re relieved to hear that it was successful.

Danny is now on the mend, though he’s had to endure a few days without eating or drinking to ensure proper healing.

Ever the optimist, he noted that his arm wasn’t broken after all—a small silver lining in this scary episode.

For those who might not know, Danny and Wil have been a dynamic duo since their marriage in 2014.

Wil, a talented musician and actor, has been Danny’s rock through thick and thin.

Their love story is one for the ages, filled with mutual support and admiration.

Instagram: @dannypintauro

Danny’s journey hasn’t been without its challenges.

In 1997, he was outed as gay by a tabloid, a revelation that thrust him into the public eye in a way he hadn’t anticipated.

Then, in 2015, during an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Danny bravely disclosed that he is HIV positive, having contracted the virus in 2003.

He also opened up about his past struggles with methamphetamine addiction.

Through it all, Danny has shown incredible resilience and has become an advocate for HIV awareness and LGBTQ+ rights.

After stepping away from the limelight to pursue other ventures, including working as a vet tech, Danny made a triumphant return to acting in 2022 with Lifetime’s “A Country Christmas Harmony.”

His passion for the arts remains as strong as ever, and we can’t wait to see what he does next.

As Danny continues his recovery, he has expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from friends and fans alike.

Instead of sending flowers or balloons, he kindly asks that we light a candle in his honor—a simple gesture to send positive vibes his way.

Let’s all rally around Danny and Wil during this challenging time, offering our love and support as they navigate the road to recovery together.

The couple’s path to fatherhood spanned over three challenging years, during which they faced multiple miscarriages and navigated complex surrogacy laws.

Ollie candidly shared, “Going into this and spending an absolute fortune trying to have babies all around the world was not an easy decision.

I sold my house to have my babies and put the money towards that; it cost so much money.”

The restrictive surrogacy regulations in the UK compelled them to seek options in the US, Mexico, Cyprus, and back to Britain, leading to expenditures amounting to hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Their perseverance bore fruit in July 2023 when their surrogate, Bex Ward, gave birth to their twins, Apollo Magnus Obi and Cosima Emily Bex.

Reflecting on their arduous journey, Ollie revealed that Gareth had moments of doubt, contemplating if parenthood was meant for them.

However, Ollie’s steadfast desire to become a father propelled them forward, even at the expense of their financial stability.

He emphasized, “I wanted to be a father and I would do everything I can, even if it was to spend all of our money.”

In a heartfelt revelation, former Rutgers University football player Jake Eldridge has shared his journey of self-discovery and the challenges he faced as a closeted athlete.

In an emotional video posted to his YouTube channel, Jake detailed how concealing his true identity led to significant stress, culminating in a hospitalization due to ulcerative colitis.

Jake’s football career began in Colleyville, Texas, where he attended a Christian private school that expelled students for coming out as gay.

To fit in and mask his true self, he immersed himself in football, a sport he believed would help him conform to societal expectations.

His talent on the field did not go unnoticed; after a standout senior year at Florida’s IMG Academy, he was ranked among the top long snappers in the nation and secured a spot at Rutgers University.

However, the pressures of maintaining a facade took a toll on his mental and physical health. Jake recounted early morning practices where he would sit in the locker room, overwhelmed by the inability to be himself.

The environment was further strained by the presence of anti-gay jokes among teammates, deepening his sense of isolation.

The breaking point came when Jake was hospitalized due to ulcerative colitis, a condition he attributes to the immense stress of hiding his identity.

Recognizing the need to prioritize his well-being, he made the difficult decision to retire from football after the 2023 season.

Instagram: @jakeeldridge_

Embracing his true self, Jake came out publicly on National Coming Out Day, October 11, with a powerful message on TikTok: “Happy national coming out day!! Remember to F what they think and live your life for you. People will speak from their own insecurities or beliefs, but that is NOT a reason to suppress yourself. Be yourself, shine bright, spread love and spark change. Love you.”

Since then, Jake has expressed that he is the happiest he has ever been.

His social media is now filled with vibrant photos and videos showcasing his authentic self.

He also praised Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano for his unwavering support upon learning of Jake’s sexuality, describing him as “the most understanding and accepting person.”

Instagram: @jakeeldridge_

Looking ahead, Jake hopes to see more active college football players come out publicly and offers his full support to those considering it.

He stated, “If you have the courage to come out and if you want to, do it. Please do it. Because I was too scared to. I’m rooting for the person that comes out while playing college football. I’m rooting for that person. And if you’re out there and you need to talk to me, DM me. I’ll fly to you and be there when you do it to support you.”

Jake’s journey is a poignant reminder of the importance of living authentically and the profound impact that acceptance and support can have on an individual’s life.
