One of the sweetest moments of Pride season happened at the finish line of New York’s LGBTQ+ Pride Run.
After completing the four-mile race through Central Park, Chris Siretz dropped to one knee and proposed to his boyfriend, Omar Merced.

The couple, who are known for wearing matching costumes to the event each year, arrived dressed as Buzz Lightyear and Woody from Toy Story.
Chris crossed the finish line first before waiting for Omar to arrive.
As soon as they reunited, he pulled out a ring and asked Omar to “keep running” with him for the rest of their lives.

Omar, overcome with emotion, happily accepted as runners and spectators nearby burst into applause.
The proposal carried an extra layer of meaning because Omar was the person who first encouraged Chris to become a runner nearly five years ago.

Since then, the annual Pride Run has become one of their favorite traditions, making it the perfect place to begin the next chapter of their lives together.
The touching moment quickly spread across social media, reminding thousands of people that sometimes the most meaningful finish lines are actually new beginnings.
