Could Heated Rivalry Star Connor Storrie Be Marvel’s Next LGBTQ+ Superhero?

Marvel fans are buzzing over a new casting rumor involving one of queer television’s fastest-rising stars.

Reports suggest that Connor Storrie is being considered for the role of Hulkling in Marvel Studios’ rumored Champions series.

Marvel has not confirmed the report.

As with all early casting rumors, fans should treat the news with caution until an official announcement is made.

Even so, the possibility has generated enormous excitement among LGBTQ+ Marvel fans.

Hulkling, whose real name is Teddy Altman, is one of the most important queer characters in Marvel Comics.

The shape-shifting hero eventually becomes the husband of Billy Kaplan, better known as Wiccan.

Marvel fans already know Wiccan.

Joe Locke made his MCU debut as Billy Maximoff in Agatha All Along and quickly became one of the franchise’s most popular new characters.

That means introducing Hulkling feels less like a question of if and more like a question of when.

For months, fan speculation centered around Heartstopper star Kit Connor.

Many viewers loved the idea of seeing Connor reunite with Joe Locke inside the Marvel universe.

However, Connor publicly denied having any knowledge of those rumors.

The conversation has now shifted toward Storrie.

The Canadian actor became a breakout star after portraying hockey player Ilya Rozanov in Heated Rivalry.

The adaptation of Rachel Reid’s bestselling novel became a major success and introduced Storrie to a global audience.

Critics praised both his performance and his chemistry with co-star Hudson Williams.

Since then, Storrie’s career has accelerated rapidly.

He has signed with major representation, landed several high-profile projects and emerged as one of the industry’s most talked-about young actors.

That trajectory makes him a plausible candidate for a major Marvel role.

The excitement surrounding the rumor is not only about casting.

It is also about representation.

Wiccan and Hulkling have long been considered one of the most beloved LGBTQ+ couples in superhero comics.

Their relationship spans years of Marvel storytelling and remains deeply important to many queer readers.

If Marvel ultimately brings that romance to the screen, it would represent another major milestone for LGBTQ+ visibility in blockbuster entertainment.

For now, fans are waiting to see whether this latest rumor becomes reality.

Until Marvel speaks officially, the future of Hulkling remains one of the MCU’s biggest unanswered questions.
