Oscars 2024 is set to be a landmark for LGBTQ+ representation in cinema. Scheduled for March 10 in Los Angeles, this 96th Academy Awards ceremony, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, is brimming with queer and trans talent. Let’s dive into the fabulous lineup!

Netflix’s “Maestro,” directed and starring Bradley Cooper as bisexual conductor Leonard Bernstein, has bagged seven nominations, including Best Picture. “Nyad,” starring Annette Bening and Jodie Foster as queer characters, follows with two nods. Colman Domingo’s portrayal of Bayard Rustin in “Rustin” earns him a Best Actor nomination, a first for Domingo.

Lily Gladstone, recognized for her role in “Killers of the Flower Moon,” and Sterling K. Brown in “American Fiction,” both playing LGBTQ characters, are among the nominees. “Anatomy of a Fall” and the live-action “Barbie” movie, featuring Billie Eilish’s nominated song, join the list.
