Jack Woolley’s Olympic medal hopes were dashed in a nail-bitingly close repechage match against Spain’s Adrian Vicente Yunta at the Grand Palais in Paris. The Tallaght-born taekwondo star put on an electrifying performance, showcasing his skill and determination, but ultimately fell short by the narrowest of margins.

Earlier on Wednesday, Woolley faced a tough start, losing his first 58kg fight 2-0 in rounds to Azerbaijan’s Gashim Magomedov, Irish Examiner writes. This loss relegated him to the bronze medal repechage, contingent upon Magomedov’s advancement to the final. In an unexpected twist, Magomedov delivered a series of stunning victories, overcoming the second seed Adrian Vicente Yunta and Italy’s reigning Olympic champion Vito Dell’Aquila. This turn of events gave Woolley a second chance at glory.

Hold onto your popcorn, friends! Our new favorite multi-talent, Jordan Doww, is set to dazzle and terrify in his first leading feature film role in the queer horror flick, Ganymede, which drops on digital platforms today (Aug 7, 2024).

If you’ve been following Jordan’s career as avidly as we have, you know this is a monumental moment for him—a real breakout that’s been a long time coming.

Ganymede, described as a “campy Southern Gothic” horror, is set in the deeply traditional small-town South.

The plot follows star high school wrestler Lee Fletcher, played by Doww, as he grapples with his burgeoning feelings for his openly gay classmate Kyle, portrayed by Pablo Castelblanco.

Lee’s strict Baptist upbringing, embodied by his legacy-obsessed father Big Lee (Joe Chrest of Stranger Things), makes his journey all the more harrowing.

Our Aussie climbing sensation, Campbell Harrison, may not have brought home a medal from the Paris Games, but he’s definitely won our hearts—and given homophobes something to think about.

“Qualifying was so hard and getting through everything to be here was really tough. It was just not my day,” he reflected.
