Troy and Dyllan’s Photo Booth Proposal Captures the Sweetest Surprise

For the first photograph, Troy Gladstone asked his boyfriend to smile. For the second, he asked him to marry him.

That simple change of plan is at the heart of a photo booth proposal shared by Troy and Dyllan Andrew, the couple known on social media as @dyllanandtroy.

The video captures Dyllan’s surprise and joy as an ordinary picture-taking moment becomes a marriage proposal, according to Queerty’s October 29 report.

A surprise between photographs

Photo booths usually ask very little of the people inside: sit close, look towards the camera and be ready for the next picture.

For Dyllan, that was the apparent plan. Troy, however, had prepared a question that would give the next photograph a very different meaning.

After prompting his boyfriend to smile for the first image, he asked him to marry him for the second.

The appeal of the moment lies in that shift. Dyllan was expecting another photograph; instead, the camera recorded his reaction to a proposal.

It gives the couple something more personal than a posed engagement portrait: a record of the surprise itself.

A connection that began online

Troy and Dyllan began communicating online in 2019.

Both have individual social media accounts, alongside their shared account, where followers can keep up with them together.

The proposal brings their relationship into view through one small, memorable scene. Viewers do not need to know their earlier posts to understand what makes it moving.

One man has a plan. The other is discovering it in real time.

For gay viewers, there is also something familiar and welcome in seeing two men share such an affectionate milestone publicly, with the focus on their happiness.

The reaction reaches far beyond the booth

According to Queerty, the video received around 300,000 likes on Instagram and more than two million views on TikTok within its first 12 hours.

Those figures describe the response reported at that point, rather than the video’s current totals.

The scale of the attention is striking, but the scene would be just as meaningful without it. The important audience was already there: the boyfriend sitting beside Troy when he asked the question.

Now the footage lets others share a little of that joy, while the photographs preserve the moment for the couple themselves.

From an online conversation in 2019 to a proposal captured between photo booth pictures, Troy and Dyllan have given their followers a lovely reason to celebrate.

Congratulations to them both.
