Cherry on Top: Ben Platt and Noah Galvin’s Love Story

Born in 1993, Los Angeles native Ben Platt first made a splash on the stage with Broadway’s “Pitch Perfect.” With his raw talent and charismatic charm, he then won a Tony for his heartfelt portrayal in “Dear Evan Hansen.” Since then, he’s been seamlessly multi-tasking his talents between music, theater, and screen, making him one of the youngest and fastest rising stars in Hollywood.

Ben’s personal life is as vibrant as his career. A proverbial torchbearer for LGBTQ+ love, he and his fiancé, Noah Galvin have been setting hearts aglow via their public displays of affection ever since confirming their relationship in May 2020. In 2022, Galvin’s romantic beach proposal to Platt was all over social media. It was captured in a candid photo featuring a joyous Platt, a radiant sunset, and a sparkling diamond ring.

This year, the couple continues to thrive and inspire as their newly released home-style video for Ben’s single ‘Cherry on Top’ epitomizes the joy of gay love. Featuring romance-filled scenes set in various Los Angeles landmarks, from their cozy home moments to carefree frolics along the sandy beaches – the video is a full-colored spectrum of queer love. It is a celebration of the soul-deep connection that they share, with a refreshing nod to the city that witnessed their love journey.

School Board Cancels Gay Actor’s Anti-Bullying Talk Due to His ‘Lifestyle’

Maulik Pancholy, an openly gay, Gujarati Indian-American actor, well-known for his roles in popular sitcoms like ’30 Rock’ and ‘Weeds’, and even more adored for his gay activism, is in the news once again! Not for any new acting gig, but for striking a blow for love and equality against discrimination.

Born on January 18, 1974, this silver fox came out as gay to the public in 2013, and since then has been a prominent advocate for LGBTQ+ rights.

He’s been in a long-term relationship with Ryan Corvaia, a professional chef, since 2001, and they’ve been going strong! In 2014, the duo was engaged at the iconic Taj Mahal in India, symbolising a love as eternal as the monument itself. Finally, they tied the knot in 2014, and their love story has been both a joy and an inspiration for the community.

Now coming to the hot-off-the-press news, PEOPLE reports that the school board in Pennsylvania recently disinvited the actor from an anti-bullying speaking engagement.

“If you research this individual, he labels himself as an activist, he is proud of his lifestyle and I don’t think that should be imposed upon our students, at any age,” Cumberland Valley School District board member Bud Shaffner said during a meeting.

This decision was met by a sheer outcry from the public. Former students also took a stand against this decision, shedding light on the importance of promoting inclusion and diversity.

“I think that if I had heard from diverse voices like (Pancholy’s) in an auditorium setting telling me that it was okay to be different, maybe my middle and high school experience could have been different,” former student Tony Conte wrote in a letter to the board.

“A presentation of this sort could have saved a life, like the life of my friend.”

Pancholy advocated for LGBTQ+ rights, emphasising the significance of such events in creating a sense of belonging among the queer youth. His bold, outspoken stance continues to inspire and receive wide praise.

In the midst of this, Maulik always manages to keep his fans entertained. He has signed a six figure deal for his next novel, ‘Will they, Won’t they,” due to hit the shelfs in 2026.

We heartily appreciate Pancholy’s unwavering support for the community, even as he continues his successful journey in Hollywood! Let’s hope that his efforts contribute to bringing about a more inclusive and accepting world for everyone.
