Jonathan Bennet to Glitter Broadway in ‘Spamalot’

The marvelous Jonathan Bennett, widely cherished for his iconic role as Aaron Samuels in “Mean Girls,” just nailed hosting NYE on Times Square and is now taking a dazzling leap onto Broadway! This talented actor, born in Ohio in 1981, has an impressive range of credentials, including roles in “Cheaper by the Dozen 2” and “Van Wilder: Freshman Year,” and hosting gigs on Food Network’s “Halloween Wars” and “Cake Wars”.

Bennett, who has always shone in various television dramas like “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “Veronica Mars,” has now nabbed a dream role in “Spamalot” on Broadway. He’s set to play Sir Robin, taking over from the fabulous Michael Urie on January 23, 2024.

“Spamalot,” a Tony-winning musical based on “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” is a delightful romp through the world of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table.

Our dear Jonathan’s personal life is equally fabulous. He’s openly gay and married to the charming Jaymes Vaughan, an “Amazing Race” contestant and “Celebrity Page” host. The couple, who tied the knot in March 2022, are not just partners in life but also in business, running their own gay travel cruise company.

In his early years, Bennett attended Eagle Point Elementary School, graduated from Rossford High School in 1999, and attended Otterbein University. His journey to stardom began with a role in the ABC soap opera “All My Children”. Since then, he’s added a variety of roles to his portfolio, including a stint on “Dancing with the Stars” and a groundbreaking role in Hallmark’s first LGBTQ-led Christmas movie, “The Holiday Sitter”.
