British actor Kit Connor, known for his roles in “Heartstopper” and “Rocketman”, has hinted yesterday at a new project on the horizon. With a not-so-subtle Instagram post, the 24-year-old recently set tongues wagging in the LGBTQ+ community. Connor, who has openly identified as bisexual, appeared to tease fans with an image simply captioned “R+” and the location as Verona, Italy.

Piquing curiosity further, musical sensation Rachel Zegler simultaneously shared a photo with the caption “+J,” also at Verona. The posts led fans to speculate that the pair were due to star as the legendary lovers Romeo and Juliet. Which now has been confirmed😊

This news comes not long after Hollywood heartthrob, Tom Holland, was announced to play Romeo at West End’s Duke of York’s Theatre — ensuring the upcoming months will be rife with star-crossed romance from some of the industry’s top talent.
