Is James Franco Gay?

Hollywood actor James Franco claims that he is gay “up to the point of intercourse” and that rumors about his sexuality act as a “smokescreen.”

James Franco, who has a self-proclaimed fascination with gay culture, shared his thoughts around the issue in a discussion with himself in gay magazine FourTwoNine.

“Straight JamesFranco” asked “Gay James Franco”: “Are you f*cking gay or what?”

“Gay Franco” replied: “Well, I like to think that I’m gay in my art and straigt in my life. Although, I’m also a gay in my life up to the point of intercourse, and then you could say I’m straight… If it means whom you have sex with, I guess I’m straight.

“In the twenties and thirties, they used to define homosexuality by how you acted and not by whom you slept with. Sailors would f*ck guys all the time, but as long as they behaved in masculine ways, they weren’t considered gay.”

In an other interview, this time with Rolling Stone, James Franco says speculations around his sexuality work as a “smokescreen” and shields him when he’s dating women.

He claims to have an “artistic preoccupation” with homosexuality both in the films he makes himself and the roles he chooses to play. His interest in the area began when he was studying at university.

“When I was studying at NYU, I took classes in critical studies, and one of my favorites was on queer cinema,” James Franco told Rolling Stone.

“We’ve told the straight, heteronormative stories ad nauseam by now, in our movies, our shows, our commercials – everywhere. I think it’s healthy to make work that disrupts and questions that, and shows alternative narratives. That’s what an artist should do.”

James Franco has directed three movies with a LGBT narrative: “Sal” about openly gay actor Sal Mineo who played opposite James Deen in “A Rebel Without a Cause“, the short film “Interior. Leather Bar.” and in “The Broken Tower” about American poet Hart Crane.

He has also played gay characters in “I Am Michael”, “Howl“, “Milk” and “King Cobra.”

So, is James Franco gay, or at least bi?

Well, you can never be sure of course, but he says he’s not – in the common definition of the word – and he does not seem like the kind of guy that would care to hide it if he was.

Latinx Singer Turns Queen’s “Somebody to Love” into a Queer Resistance Anthem

Latinx singer José Rivera Jr. has just premiered his cover of Queen’s “Somebody to Love,” claiming the song as a queer resistance anthem for the Drumpf era.

Born in the Bronx in 1992, José (@joseishere) is a queer latinx recording and visual artist. With powerful vocals and dance as a visual medium, José’s ‘glam-glitch’ sound and aesthetic create a truly unique performative experience.

The video also features legendary nightlife personality Rify Royalty in the role of Rivera Jr.’s father.

“Every day came another story about the Drumpf Administration being anti-LGBT—and I thought, ‘Wow, they are really trying to erase us,’” Rivera Jr. explains. “But instead of getting angry, I decided to use the amazing lyrics of this song to say, ‘I’m not going anywhere. You can’t erase me when all I want is love. All we do as a community is love. And none of us are going anywhere because of your petty intolerance and hate.’”

Rivera Jr. has previously gained attention from the press for his revelatory video cover of Adele’s “When We Were Young,” also featuring original choreography, with Elite Daily calling it “straight out of a movie.”

Gay Test – How to find out if you’re gay or not (according to the scientists)

It is safe to say that only a very small minority of people have gone through life without ever questioning their own sexuality in one way or another. Some may say they have’nt, but they are most likely lying.

Even the straightest dude has at some point made an extra look at another guy, and even the gayest gal do find some guys attractive. To what degree they are questioning, that is of course a totally different matter.

As common as it is to put people into boxes based upon classical stereotypes, you should think that there was some full-proof way to decide if you are gay or not. But it really isn’t.

And with all the horrible things that have been done to LGBTQ people throughout history, and still going on in many coutries, that is probably a good thing.

However, that doesn’t mean that efforts haven’t been made to try to figure out a test that can determine your sexual orientation.

Gay Test 1 – The Kinsey Scale Test

The most famous one is the Kinsey scale. It was developed by Alfred Kinsey in 1948 as a way of defining someone’s sexuality more diversly than just as gay, straight or bisexual.

The test asks people to plot themselves on a scale of sexuality from 0 (exclusively heterosexual) to 6 (exclusively homosexual).

Gay Test - Kinsey Scale

While less than 2 percent of people identify as gay, lesbian or bisexual when given strict labels to choose from, almost half of young people don’t identify as exclusively straight when asked to plot their sexuality on the Kinsey scale.

An official Kinsey “test” does not exist, which is contrary to popular belief and many tests across the web. The original Kinsey research team assigned a rating number based on a person’s sexual history.

You can try out a version of the Kinsey test here.

Gay Test 2 – The Purple Red Scale Test

Many sexologists see the Kinsey scale as relevant to sexual orientation but not comprehensive enough to cover all sexual identity issues.

They suggest that sexual identity involves at least three different spectra. Sexual orientation is only one of them (two others being biological sex and gender identity).

There have been suggested many alternatives to the Kinsey scale, including the Purple Red Scale. This test measures attraction in two dimensions: *who* you’re attracted to and *how* you’re attracted to them.

Gay Test 3 – The Genderbread Person

This is not really a test but a way of conceptualising gender and orientation. It consists of a yellow stereotypically male-shaped (think of gendered bathroom signs) “gingerbread man”-like figure.

It has various parts of its anatomy labelled to refer to various parts of human gender, genitals, orientation, presentation, and sexuality. Read more about it here.

Give the tests a try, but don’t take the results too seriously. There is really no test that can accurately answer if you’re gay or not.

You just have to take your time and figure it out on your own. One day all those labels will be gone anyway. Or at least we can hope so.

Did David Gest Hire a Hitman to Kill Elton John?

0

The bodyguard of Liza Minelli’s late husband David Gest, Imad Handi, claims that he had to talk Gest out of hiring a hitman to kill Elton John.

David Gest was alledgedly furious after Sir Elton John made remarks about Gest’s 2002 marriage to actress Liza Minnelli, saying: “I’d love to buy Liza a heterosexual husband.”

Handi told The Sun: “David flew into a range and yelled, ‘I’m going to kill that m***********. He’s a dead man. He looked me in the eyes and said, ‘I want him dead.’ I think he was so angry because Elton rumbled who he really was.”

Handi said Gest had met a Maori doorman who knew a hitman that would kill the pop star for £40,000, and Gest asked Handi to research when Sir Elton John would next be in Los Angeles.

The hit was supposed to go down on January 17, 2003, when Sir Elton was due to perform in Anaheim, California, but Handi said his own guilt made him convince Gest to reconsider.

He told The Sun: “I started to really worry about being implicated and at the start of 2003 I pleaded with him to call it off. He eventually said OK but told me I had to get his money back. The man only gave me £8,000 back so David lost £12,000 but at least Elton didn’t die.”

Hadid also claimed that Gest was bisexual and had the hots for both the late Amy Winehouse and his “dream man” Simon Cowell.
